Balancing An Equation
A Balanced Equation is an equation that has both sides (the products and reactants) adding up to the same amount of atoms.
There are steps in balancing an equation that can be find below.

Steps to Balancing an Equation
In order to show this the unbalanced equation that will be used is C3H8 + O2 --> CO2 + H2O
Step 1: Check for Diatomic Molecules
C3H8 + O2 --> CO2 + H2O
Step 2: Balance the Metals and Nonmetals
C3H8 + O2 --> 3CO2 + 4H2O
Step 3: Balance Hydrogen or Oxygen
C3H8 + 5O2 --> 3CO2 + 4H2O
Step 4: Equation should be balanced but check to make sure atoms add up
C3H8 + 5O2 --> 3CO2 + 4H2O
21 atoms --> 21 atoms
And there is the Balanced Equation!
